Sad World vols. I – III

4 February, 2010

Been a little while since we had some Fax, so here are all three volumes of the Sad World project. Lovely expansive ambient workouts with an exotic, Asia Minor tinge, they are the work of Amir Abadi and Ramin Naghachian, aka Dr Atmo and Ramin. The former also contributed to Fax acts across the swathe of techno, trance and ambient, under the names Silence, Music to Film, Gamma, Whole Traffic, etc, and produced some great ethno-trance for Eye-Q as Java. His buddy Ramin has done plenty too, but gets the Friendsound cheer just for releasing a trance pounder called “Brainticket” back in the day.

Released in a single edition of 1000 copies each; the first two discs were also compiled as a double pack for Fax and Instinct in 1995.

  1. The Sad World series was always one of my favorites, and some of the best early sublabel material to be sure.

    Ever read about this?: http://www.usatt.org/rseguine/FAX/fax_facts/ManMadeMotion.html

  2. Where can I at least listen to snipets of these tracks? I am only familiar with Apadana from a compilation I bought many years ago “Chillout Phase II”.

    • Just clink on LINK to download, then listen.

  3. Holy hell, thank you… I never knew there was a third volume.
