• Laszlo Hortobagyi – Transreplica Meccano
1 January, 2009

CD, Staalplaat, 1991
First album from the Hungarian studio wizard, Laszlo Hortobagyi, and his Gayan Uttejak Orchestra. This immense, sample-swathed neo-prog/electronics opus was first released in 1989 on vinyl on a local label, Hungaropop, but picked up a couple of years later by the trusty Staalplaat crew. Other Hortobagyi discs have been posted hither and thither recently, but we’ve not seen this debut, so here it is for all to enjoy. Welcome to his singular world, and do check out his website for snippets from his hefty back catalogue.
