Another dusty little charmer from the tape box, in the form of a “club prelude mixtape” from the one and only Kevin Saunderson. Techno’s come a hell of a long way in twenty years, and while the corners are slowly being painted into, there’s always something like this to remind us that, amidst all the experimentation, the brow-furrowing and at worst the pompous phuture-jazz-phunk dicks, there’s always been some great pop music at its heart. This still works as a Saturday night warm-up, or maybe that’s just us having a massive Proustian flashback the moment “Good Life” kicks in and losing the plot for an hour…
